Following the abysmal result against Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur thought that was the last straw and Nuno had to be sacked. Nuno is the second manager to be released by Tottenham in less than a year after he took over the reins of Ryan Mason who was made interim coach coach after Jose Mourinho’s services were deemed futile.
They have looked to the services of Antonio Conte to be the successor of Nuno. Antonio has an impressive resume having previously coached Juventus,Chelsea and most recently Inter Milan. He has achieved multiple league titles, 1 each with Chelsea and Inter Milan and a hat-trick for the old lady between 2012 and 2014. Conte has previously linked to a job at Man United as per Fabrizio Romano.
He has the task of taking Tottenham from 9th to become a serious contender again. Tottenham is still in the League cup and they are currently third in their UEFA Conference League group. So turning that situation around and winning the League cup could be an expectation.
The Italian likes to play with a set of 3 defenders at the back and his preferred formation is 3-5-2. Give that he has won a lot of titles, people who think that he is very “conservative” should slow down a bit because the said formation has won Antonio Conte titles at different clubs and in different.
He has been give an 18 month co era t with an option to extend according to Sky Sport. It is also reported that he is expected to earn upwards of £15 million which is roughly 280 000 a week and will take him amongst the company of the most paid managers in the Premier League and Europe.
According to Sky Sports, Conte is yet to train with this the team and will not train this afternoon awaiting a working Visa that hasn’t been finalised but he could be available for the Premier League game away at Everton, however, he is most likely no to be available for the Conference League game at home on Thursday.
